After a thorough literature review of both pioneering and more recent studies on the subject, I hypothesize a thought experiment and describe the probable results that would prove my hypothesis, linking these adaptation effects to the known neurobiological processes occurring in the human schizophrenic brain.

This paper attempts to explain why, by examining how belief in conspiracy is influenced by outside sources, such as movies, television, literature, and current events. It also hypothesizes that the overarching cultural climate of an era, specifically its historical context in terms of major events and the reactions to those events, has impact on whether or not the general public discredits or deems a conspiracy plausible.
